Most of our shower glass installations take around 2 weeks from measure & approval to installation:
We arrive to take site measurements when your tile is fully complete, including any bench seats or thresholds. We try to get out to you within 1-2 days of your call, so when you are getting close to completion, give us a ring.
You will receive a detailed quote for your approval (with just a click of a button). Orders are final sale, so we require your approval before production will begin.
Production lead time is generally 10-14 days. As we don’t produce the glass ourselves, our ability to rush orders is limited to asking really, really nicely (or bringing cookies).
When we know your glass will be ready for pick up, we will call to make installation arrangements, usually within 24 hours. Installations generally take 2-3 hours per shower, but whether you remain at home for the duration is up to you. The silicone then requires up to 48 hours to cure before you turn on the water and enjoy your shiny new shower.
Start by reading through our tips for design planning. Telephone consults are free, so we always recommend you give us a call ahead of time, so we can make suggestions before it’s too late to change things (photos, drawings and measurements are really helpful!)
Is your contractor a jack-of-all-trades? Great, but still call us. Maybe discreetly so you don’t hurt their feelings.
Once you’re ready for glass, our measuring appointments are free & include consultation time.
If you’re looking for more detailed advanced planning, in-person consultations are charged at our call-out rate (currently $120). If you use us for your shower glass within the year, we will credit this toward your purchase.
All of our panels are made custom to your exact requirements (to the millimetre and cut out-of-square), which means they cannot be reused. But rest-assured, we supply very detailed quotes – complete with photos – so you understand exactly what is being ordered before production begins.
No. We don’t make or temper our own glass, so we are at the mercy of the supplier’s timetable. Plus, tempered glass is an unforgiving product that cannot be cut, altered, or repaired. If we discover a defect it needs to be remade all over again. Luckily it doesn’t happen very often, but, when it does, we believe a day or two delay is worth delivering the best end result possible.
Payment becomes due upon substantial completion by cash, cheque, or e-transfer to the attention of VanGo Glass. Feel free to deduct any associated bank fees. Trades may be considered for adorable family pets… inquire with Eric directly! We reserve the right to request a deposit or progress invoice.
All sales are FINAL, excluding any defects of hardware or workmanship covered under warranty. All glass installed will meet or exceed established industry standards for quality. Any glass defects must be reported within 10 days of installation. To be considered a defect, the flaw must be visible from a distance of 3 feet. Accounts over 15 days will be charged financing of 3% per month compounding. ALL accounts over 60 days will be referred to collections until payment in full or completed legal action. All materials remain the property of VanGo Glass until payment is received in full; homeowner will grant access for removal if necessary. Finally, materials not received by the client within 30 days of requested installation may be subject to storage fees.
We may be small, but VanGo Glass has taken a big stance against credit card fees, which are like a consumer tax disguised as convenience. The average credit card transaction rate is 3% of your purchase (including taxes!), which means we would need to add 3.15% to our prices to pay for it.
We think you, our smart, money-savvy clientele, would prefer to keep that money where it belongs – in your pocket! We appreciate you supporting us and small businesses everywhere.
If you discover a defect or have a concern after installation, let us know. If it’s an easy fix, we may walk you through it over the phone – like using a microfibre cloth to remove a “scratch” that isn’t, or to wiggle a door sweep back into proper position.
Otherwise we will make arrangements to come by and take a look within the week. Assuming the issue actually pertains to the glass (see below for warranty exclusions), we will fix it on site if we can, or remove and/or replace a panel as necessary.
VanGo Glass honours a comprehensive 2 year warranty on hardware, labour & adjustments for all shower enclosure as ordered. Your bathroom is our showroom, so we want it to look great!
Our most common issues are minor door adjustments, usually caused by walls settling shortly after installation. Sudden cold snaps can also make yours walls contract, pulling doors out of alignment. These issues are usually resolved with a quick hinge adjustment.
We aim for warranty issues to be addressed within 1 week of your call, or within 36 hours for emergencies. Our reputation means a lot to us, so we never want to leave you (or your shower door) hanging!
Sometimes problems are not the result of an improper glass installation. That’s why VanGo Glass always encourages you to review our planning section in advance, so we can help you avoid these common issues that are excluded from our warranty:
No. Frameless showers are beautiful, no doubt. But they’re not as dependable as their plainer framed cousins. That said, a VanGo Shower will do a very good job staying dry if you follow our planning suggestions, to avoid issues that aren’t caused by your glass.
Shower glass is not something many people have experience with. Admittedly it does all look the same in those pretty magazine photos. What sets our work apart is really 4 fold:
Our suggested layouts are all thoughtfully planned, ensuring a great looking and functional result without sacrificing safety. All joints are meticulously taped and neatly siliconed, preventing smears, fingerprints, bubbles or drips. And we treat your home as we would our own, always protecting finished surfaces to prevent accidents.
They’re not quite attached to our heads, but we are talking laser beams here, Mr. Powers. All panels are laser-measured precisely in 3 dimensions to ensure a perfect fit, and we never try to scrimp with tape, or use one-size-(doesn’t quite) fit-all mass-produced doors.
Frameless glass is heavy, so hardware needs to be able to withstand a lot of wear and tear. Ours is all solid brass or high quality stainless steel, thickly plated in your choice of finish by trusted manufacturers. We only use accepted Red Seal installation techniques with layouts/hardware that are engineer-approved. Many of those pretty magazine showers would never pass inspection!
No issues, hassles, or hidden charges. We usually can come out for warranty calls (almost always door adjustments) within a week, or 36 hours for emergencies. Our reputation means a lot to us, so we never want to leave you (or your shower door) hanging!
Custom glass is cut, fabricated and tempered here locally to your exact needs, allowing for your out-of-square conditions, preferred hardware, notches, bench seat, or that funny bump-out thingy on the edge of your tub. Plus parts are readily available now and for the future.
Kits? Well, just like mum used to say, “you get what you get and you don’t get upset.” That is until you realise you have to pull the whole thing out after a year because the top bar bent, and dear mum is visiting next week. Then you can get upset. Then count backwards from 10, breath, and give us a call.
With reasonable care and basic maintenance, your glass enclosure will likely out-live the rest of your shower.
The anti-fungal properties of the silicone do dissipate over time, so you may need some of that to be replaced from time to time. But after 15 years in business, we have never had a request for silicone or hardware replacement on a VanGo Shower. Seriously, never.
Mic Drop.
